              ライヴ録⾳音。

 

 

Le percussionniste  Xavier Desandre Navarre est un adepte des rencontres musicales étonnantes, de celles qui prennent des risques et sortent des sentiers battus. Le pianiste Japonais Hakuei Kim, signé chez Universal Japon,  fait partie de ces musiciens qui suivent volontiers cette même démarche. 

Ils se sont rencontrés en Corée du Sud, solistes invités du festival de Gwangju, aux côtés de Linda Oh (Pat Metheny Quartet), Simon Barker, …,  pour une collaboration avec des musiciens Coréens, Aram Lee, jean Oh (Black String), … 

De passage à Paris, Hakuei Kim et Xavier Desandre Navarre ont donné un concert au Sunside, haut lieu du Jazz à Paris et en France, dont le répertoire fut totalement improvisé,. 

Cette rencontre de haut vol entre ces deux merveilleux musiciens fut enregistrée. Le CD est a présent sorti sur le prestigieux label Verve Universal Japon. (2019)

HAKUEI KIM (Jazz Pianist, Composer, Arranger) 

Hakuei Kim was born in 1975 Kyoto, Japan and was brought up in Sapporo. He grew up in a family with Korean/Japanese heritage.

In his late teens he moved to Sydney, Australia and pursues an intense study for jazz and improvisation at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of an ECM artist Mike Nock.

During his years in Australia, Hakuei Kim has established himself as one of the prominent young talents emerging on the local scene. After recording his debut album “OPEN THE GREEN DOOR” (DIW,2005),he relocates to Tokyo and since then, many musical situations have unfolded itself. The album has won 4-star rating from the French jazz magazine JAZZMAN.

He since then has released following albums as a leader or co-leader;

He has performed at various jazz festivals both in and out of Japan such as; “Yokohama Jazz Promenade”(Japan), “Sapporo City Jazz”(Japan), “Hong Kong International Summer Jazz Festival”(China), “Gwangju International World Music Festival”(South Korea) and In 2016, Hakuei’s trio Trisonique performed at Detroit International Jazz Festival in the United States and their performance and repertoire were highly acclaimed by both the audience and the critics.

His latest release is titled “Conversations in Paris” (VERVE-UNIVERSAL/2019). A duo album which was recorded live in Paris, France in 2018 with a French percussionist Xavier Desandre Navarre.

He is currently based in Tokyo and performs and tours both nationally and internationally.
